Updated race day information will be uploaded to this page closer to race day!

With a mixture of nerves and excitement riding high, please take time to make sure you’re familiar with the important event instructions:

Time & Location

Sunday 5th July 2019. The 10K starts on Porthcawl Seafront by the Grand Pavilion at 10am.

Parking

An official car park will be available at Salt Lake Car Park, Eastern Promenade (click for Google Maps pin), CF36 5TS (closest postcode) just over a 5 minute walk to the race start and finish, enabling easy access for runners and their spectators.

We would encourage users to arrive from junction 37 of the M4 and then follow event signage as they approach the town centre.

The car park will be open from 07:00 on Sunday 7th July ( please arrive as earlier as possible to avoid disappointment/any delays in getting to the race start)

The cost is £5 per vehicle. Please note that payment is CASH ONLY and to have the correct change where possible.

All other travel and parking info can be found here.

Race Number
Enclosed in your race pack was your running bib, with a unique race number. It’s vital that you keep this safe as a timing chip (which enables us to give you your finishing time) is embedded into all 10K race numbers – which cannot be reissued. Please pin the number to the front of your t-shirt on race day, and remember to complete the medical information on the back of your race number. This is VERY important. Pens will open from 09:45am and be indicated with coloured flags.

Baggage
Bag storage is situated in the Grand Pavilion, and will be open from 8:30am. Tear off the baggage label strip on the bottom of your 10K race number and attach it to your bag before you arrive.

10K Race Start
The 10K race starts on Porthcawl Seafront by the Grand Pavilion at 10am. The solid colour (either white, green, red or yellow) behind the number on your running bib will dictate which starting pen you must assemble in before the race and whether you will begin in Wave 1 or 2. Wave 1 consists of white, green and red bibs, and Wave 2 consists of yellow bibs. To avoid confusion on the day it is vital that you look at the Venue Map in your race pack for details on how to access your starting pen, and wave start times. Pens will open at 09:45am.

Family Fun Run
The One Mile Family Fun Run will begin at 12:30pm from the start line on Porthcawl Seafront by the Grand Pavilion. Under 8s must be accomanied by an adult.

Water Stations

We’re anticipating warm weather. Please make sure to take on water at 5K at the Hi-Tide Inn Car Park. More essential hydration tips can be found here.

Health and Safety
Our 10K route takes place on fully closed roads, but competitors should be aware of their surroundings and listen out for marshal’s instructions for their own health and safety.

Download the Run 4 Wales App
Available on iOS and Android, the Run 4 Wales App lets you track participants on race day, view live results and more.

T-Shirts & Medals
Medals (both races) and t-shirts (10K only) will be distributed at the finish line of your race.

Volunteers
A big team of #ExtraMilers will be giving up their own time on race day to ensure you have an unforgettable day.

Pacers
Looking for a new personal best? Our pacers will be running at 45, 60 and 75 minutes to help you keep track of your time. Look out for them in your start wave.
