Entries into the 2026 Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K have sold out – in what will be its largest race yet.
With around one month to go until the event returns to the iconic seaside town, all general entries have now been snapped up by keen runners.
The only way people can now get involved in all the fun on Sunday 5 July, is either through securing one of just a handful of places left with the event’s lead charity Tŷ Hafan, or in one of the supporting junior races. Alternatively, there is also the chance to get involved through volunteering.
This year sees a record year for the Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K with 6,800 runners signed up to take part.
The popular race has been a favourite in the Run 4 Wales race calendar for many years and sees participants take in all of the highlights in the area including its beautiful beaches, picturesque town centre, historic Grand Pavillion and the Porthcawl Lighthouse.
They will also get the chance to complete the distance by finishing on the seafront to the cheers of crowds above and the sounds of splashing waves – as well as the unique opportunity to run through the Trecco Bay Showdome.
As usual, alongside the main event there will also be something for the whole family to get involved in including a Toddler Dash, Future Challengers race for competitive young athletes and a one-mile Family Fun Run.
Steve Brace, Race Director at Run 4 Wales, said: “This year’s Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K is set to be bigger and better than ever before and we’re really looking forward to welcoming our record number of runners to the town.
“Runners can expect to experience a great atmosphere around the course and at the finish line and it’s set to be a fantastic day out for the whole family with lots to do in the event village and surrounding area.”
The Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K is the third race in the R4W 10K Series, with just the Kidney Wales CDF 10K set to complete the set in September.
